Seismic Event- October 1st- Stanford University

Seismic Event
Best Practices on the reduction of Seismic Risk in design.

The American Institute of Architects - Santa Clara Chapter, and The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute

The American Institute of Architects of Santa Clara County is pleased to invite you to a Seismic Event, presented in conjunction with the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), held on Friday, October 1st at Tressider Hall at Stanford University.

If you are involved in the design of facilitation of buildings in California – whether hospital, schools, municipal buildings or any construction, you should be a part of this conversation!

The Event will bring engineering experts from renowned structural engineering firms, regulatory organizations, building jurisdictions and the academic communities. Join this dynamic event and take part in learning about the seismic force, resilient cities, engineering methods, and projects from around the world that showcase the latest seismic technologies for new and renovated structures.

The objective of this daylong session is to identify factors in reducing seismic risk and understand how to that hinder the speed and the consistency with which solar energy systems are grid-connected. Event speakers will propose methods that address codes, improve project management and production efficiency, and reduce project costs.

Current Agenda
8:15 am – “Seismic Hazards and Site Selection”
Successful design starts at the site!
Session Leader: Richard Eisner, FAIA
Mary Lou Zoback, PhD – Seismologist, VP, Risk Management Solutions, Inc.
Jonathan Bray, PhD, PE – Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering, UCB
